LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday has declared Members of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) guilty of contempt of court.
The PML-N members include the former MNA Sheikh Waseem, former senior vice chairman of PML-N’s Kasur wing Jameel Khan, former Chairman Kasur Bait-ul-Maal Nasir Khan and former vice chairman of Kasur’s municipality department Ahmed Lateef.
They all were accused of holding an anti judiciary rally and voicing anti judiciary slogans in Kasur.
Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi presided over a three-member bench of the LHC and announced the verdict.
All the individuals were handed over one-month imprisonment and a Rs100,000 fine each.
After the verdict, the police took the four PML-N members in its custody.
On the other hand, former MPA Naeem Safdar and former chairman of Kasur’s municipality department Haji Ayaz were cleared by the court.
